Sunday 26th August:
well its been a normal week on the road, we got loaded from Wisconsin to Georgia, Georgia to Wisconsin, Wisconsin to Tennessee, Tennessee to north Carolina, and we're currently going from north Carolina to Wisconsin! sound like fun? we'll it kinda is, at least we're getting to know the local truck stops well hehe.
The reason for the small area of travelling, is that we can't go west to California - its on fire, we can't go to some places on the east coast - they're flooding, Texas is in a bad drought but had a hurricane heading towards it. Ohio/Colorado/parts of Wisconsin, are flooding as well. Thankfully Wisconsin isn't too bad, though when we got through the Indiana/Illinois state line we have to take a detour because part of the main interstate is closed due to flooding.
We had a little bit of fun of on this trip, when we were heading to Tennessee we were loaded out of Wisconsin, only problem we couldn't find any empty trailers! we had to travel all over the place to find one. one! empty that we snapped up and took for our trip. Then we got to North Carolina and a storm hit - lightning, heavy rain the works. Not normally a problem except we were in the mountains, loading, with our trailer backed down a damn steep ramp. I felt bad for the guys loading us - the rain was running off the top of the trailer and right in the dock, then extheir power transformer got hit by lightning which took out their power. We were watching the fast rushing water coming down our ramp and thinking that we might not be able to get up the slippery incline - but we did it! yay pat and his good driving. So we travel down the road (there's only one road in and out of that small town) and we came across a police block in the road, there were power lines down across the road so we had to sit. That wasn't so bad, they got it cleared up quick and we made it to our stop for the night. All in all, pretty entertaining week.
Oh I forgot to mention, we went through the smokey mountains! that's gorgeous, utterly gorgeous. Its so peaceful and serene, even with all the traffic going up and down.

Hey Kat,
Well, we did go without lights for around 6 hours during those bad storms near Rib Lake, lots of trees and lines down, and tons of rain....finally! No cobs on the corn because it has been too dry, so no sweet corn from the farm. But, my chicky family is doing great! Hopefully the young people up there will finally start being responsible for the animals and we can get away more often.
Hope to see you soon. Give each other hugs and kisses from me!
Marj
hey marj! thanks for commenting. I'm glad to hear the chicky family are doing well. I hope for the young people at the farm's sake they do get their stuff sorted and start looking after the animals.
We'll see you guys tomorrow if you'll still be at the house. until then, take care.
